Flights and boarding passes

Mark an event as a flight, or let PlanIT read a boarding pass and offer the flight and when to leave for the airport.

A flight

Switch on Flight in an event and a plane shows before its title in the Calendar, Timelines and search. An event typed in Launchpad with a flight word ("flight to Lisbon") is a flight already.

A boarding pass

Wherever you add a photo, scan or file (Launchpad, the Journal, a plan's Dossier), PlanIT looks for a boarding pass. It reads the pass's barcode (route, flight, day, seat, booking) and the printed text (boarding, departure and arrival times, gate), from camera scans, airline PDFs and screenshots.

  • It's offered, never added on its own: the file is named "Boarding pass London → Lisbon" and a card shows the flight, its name ("Flight to Lisbon", which you can change) and one Add button.
  • Times are read in the departure airport's time zone, so the Calendar shows them in yours; the card and notes also show the time as printed ("10:00 London time").
  • The alert is at or before boarding. The notes hold the route, times, gate, seat and booking reference.
  • Adding the same pass twice gives one event.

Leave for the airport

The card also offers Leave for the airport: when to be there (as printed, else two hours before departure), less a travel time you pick (45 minutes unless you change it), with an alert at that time.
